AD Projects Ltd. and The Waste Transformers sign Memorandum of Understanding

Netherlands, United Kingdom: July 26, 2024  – The Waste Transformers and AD Projects Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), marking the beginning of a transformative cooperation aimed at valorizing clients’ food waste on-site in the UK market. The agreement was formalized at the headquarters of The Waste Transformers, symbolizing a strategic cooperation that promises to set new standards in on-site food waste management solutions.

A commitment to sustainability and innovation

This cooperation brings together The Waste Transformers’ on-site containerized technology in food waste management for urban applications and AD Projects LTD’s extensive expertise in anaerobic digester project development and execution. Together, both parties aim to tackle the UK’s pressing food waste management issues. Being able to offer on-site small-scale food waste solutions in the UK market, the gap is addressed towards large-scale centralized processing.

“The signing of this MoU represents a significant step towards achieving a more sustainable future,” stated Lara van Druten, CEO of The Waste Transformers. “By partnering with AD Projects, we are expanding our reach and impact, ensuring that our innovative solutions can benefit the UK market, contributing to a local circular economy.”

Enhancing operational efficiency and reducing environmental footprint

AD Projects LTD has a strong track record of delivering successful AD projects across various sectors. This collaboration leverages their local market and technology knowledge, enabling to offer across the UK market the Waste Transformer biodigesters.

“Our collaboration with The Waste Transformers aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and innovation in food waste solutions,” said John Lyndon-Taylor, Director of AD Projects. “Together, we will not only address the challenge of food waste but also create opportunities for clean energy generation and environmental stewardship on sites where food waste is produced.”

Modular, containerized biodigesters

The Waste Transformers’ containerized biodigesters are designed to process food waste on-site, converting it into biogas or electricity and heat, and nutrient-rich fertilizer. This technology not only eliminates food waste sent to landfills but also produces renewable energy and organic fertilizer, supporting local agriculture and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Strategic implementation

The initial phase of this cooperation will focus on deploying Waste Transformers at key locations identified by AD Projects. Showcasing the UK market the effectiveness of The Waste Transformers’ technology in various settings, all monitored online by the team in the Netherlands.

“This MoU is just the beginning. We are committed to working closely with AD Projects to identify and implement projects that will have a meaningful impact on food waste management and sustainability in the UK,” added van Druten.
