
Preparing for Waste Transformer shipment to Freetown At the moment of writing, the Waste Transformer is on its way to Freetown, Sierra Leone. It involved preparing the technology in the Netherlands. Before each container is shipped, each container is packed and made ready for sailing the oceans. The food waste from the local community and businesses will be collected and brought to this Waste Transformer to produce clean energy. A steady source of electricity is vital for peoplein Freetown. Sierra Leone has one of the lowest rates of electricity access in the world.

With another consortium partner, the energy generated by food waste will co-power a water cleaning system to produce clean potable water and to improve the people’s access to clean drinking water.
