Lara van Druten appointed to UN Advisory Board on Zero Waste
I am both humbled and thrilled to announce that I have been appointed as a member of the Advisory Board of Eminent Persons on Zero Waste by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr. António Guterres.  The role of the Advisory Board is to support zero-waste initiatives worldwide, in the context of sustainable development. It is an incredible honor to be able to contribute to this mission, and I am determined to do all I can to encourage sustainable development and promote local and national zero-waste projects.   Since founding The Waste Transformers, I have witnessed first-hand the devasting impact of landfills generally and specifically of food waste.  As a member of the Advisory Board, I am eager to work alongside a multidisciplinary, regionally and gender-balanced Board with the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to advocate for effective practices and success stories in the zero-waste field.   Lara van Druten, Founder and CEO The Waste Transformers
